Why an Appraisal is Needed
Read Donald Samick's article Does a Church Need a Stained Glass Appraisal? published in The Stained Glass Quarterly.
Many institutions, especially religious buildings, do not have written and photographic documentation of stained glass windows. Due to disasters such as fire, valuable art glass can be lost or damaged beyond recognition. Only through good documentation, can these art treasures be restored or recreated. An accurate appraisal will also give insurance companies the information they need to process your claim.Donald Samick is a member of the Art Glass Forum-New York, American Glass Guild, Stained Glass Association of America, and is a certified appraiser with the Appraisers Association of America.
